Altanak, the Thrice-Called

As soon as this card was released, it was clear that we had to do something about it.
First, we considered whether to only include the card in the colossal list, or to ban either Beanstalk Worm or this card and add the other to the colossal list.

As a premise, we try to avoid “too long banned card lists” or similar. The purpose is to make it easier for players to remember which cards are banned and which are not. If we follow this approach, then adding this card to the Colossal List will at least take care of it.

Next, we also considered the impact of having one more mana acceleration card can use with two mana values in the Colossal environment.
At this time, it is unlikely that the presence of this one card will have a significant impact on the environment, so for the time being we will only add it to the Colossal list, but there is still little information on Colossal and we will revisit it when it is known to have a negative impact on the environment.

Repudiate // ReplicateDiscontinuityLotus Field

Before explaining our thoughts on these, we will discuss how we made changes to these cards in this banned restriction.

Lotus Field has long been a card that users have been clamoring for in friendly play. It is a card that can simply increase the total amount of mana a deck can produce by +3 by using Waste as its cost, Unlike Lotus Vale and others, players could use this card with safety.

The reason this card was added to the colossal list is simple: it can be combined with certain cards for mana acceleration.
In other words, the reason why we added Repudiate // Replicate and Discontinuity to the colossal list this time is because we saw the combination with this card as risky when we unbanned Lotus Field in response to user requests.

We also discussed whether there were any cards that would have a negative impact on the format due to the loss of one means of interfering with an activated or triggered ability by banning Repudiate // Replicate, but we decided to apply this change for now and see how it goes here as well.
